La Vie en Rose.....THE MOVIE

I must begin by stating that sub-title movies are a lot of work especially when the words disappear before you finish reading them. Sometimes you are so busy reading a movie you hardly get to watch the great acting or you do all that reading for nothing.  In these cases I would rather stick to my Kobo. In this film - trust me - this does not apply. I have always loved Edith Piaf's voice and always enjoyed her serious, shy nature. I never would have guessed the experiences of her tragic life. From having a useless mother and even more useless father...some time spent being raised in a brothel.... to falling in love with a married man who was killed on his way to see her....and physical pain and addiction that then follow.
Don't fret I really haven't ruined it....there is so much more to this film. The women who acted the part of Edith was breathtaking at times....you thought Edith was still alive. The lip-sinking was exact. I really have never seen such excellent looping work. I would have loved to have witnessed the outtakes to this film. I must also talk about the way the film was produced - dark - shady - dreary - all great words to describe the somber and tragic story and yet the music so delightful and cheery in it's own way. The supporting actors had little work to do really. You could not take your eyes off this woman for a second. Wondering what she would do next and hoping she would sing again and again.
I was very profoundly touched by her spiritual beliefs and her vision of St. Theresa. I am not aware if Edith really had a visitation form a Saint or if she ever admitted it to anyone but it would not surprise me at all after the aloneness she had to face as a child. In every crisis Edith prayed......it's so simple!!!! She would not go on stage without her cross. She clearly understood who help and guided her life.
I would highly recommend this film to anyone who really wants to understand what keeps people going. What kept her going was one thing and one thing only and she reveals it on the beach while being interviewed by a reporter. A wonderful film about a nothing person that no one loved becoming well adored and loved by thousands. I wouldn't miss it if I were you!!!!!!

LOVE WORKING IN FASHION IN TORONTO

I work for a fashion designer in Toronto and just love it. I do most of the sourcing and marketing for YES WORLD BOUTIQUE. Now the best part of this job is that I get to work for my closest friend and I have learned a heck of a lot about social networking, being a PI, website design, fashion photography, sales and brainstorming!!!!!
I had to beg for this job and Suzanne Wyman - Owner/Designer was very hesitant to hire me.....almost 3 years later I have proved that I can do almost anything......except design clothing. She is amazing and it is so easy to talk up her designs on facebook or anywhere. This week has been all about overhauling her FACEBOOK page. It looks great check it out!!!!!!!  Also, increasing her market has been really challenging and fun. Suzanne designs for women over 30 and women of all sizes. Please check out her website at www.shopyesworld.

CROCHET FUN !!!!!!!

Today I am working on this shawl just because it will be fun and challenging and real easy to sell!!!!!!
I am a very luck crafter in that I can look at a picture and make the design if it crochetted. So if you have patterns you just can't figure out you may want to run them past me!!!!!

Stichin' and a Braggin'

Today is Friday!!!!! I love Fridays because I get to hang out with some really great women all afternoon!!!! I am a crochet-aholic and I finally joined a craft group of Senior Women who LOVE to make stuff. Usually we get little accomplished because we are busy yaking.....but what fun we have. One woman in the group created the most gorgeous quilts, another crochets blankets and lap rugs.

I have been crocheting all my life.....I create sweaters, scarfs, hats, blankets, rugs, towels, pillows and just about anything else you can imagine!!!!!

Learning Crochet has taken a lifetime.....Learning to read patterns and learning to make up patterns on my own....I LOVE IT.....and I would love to connect with women who love it as much as I do.

I also love to teach crochet......women are soooo creative and when you teach them .... they become amazing designers and work miracles.

So I would love to hear all about the crafts you love to make!!!!! Happy Friday and hope to chat with you soon!!!!!
